“Food Deserts” Magazine Spread
Assistant Art Director
In my Information Graphics course, I was selected by the professor to serve as the Assistant Art Director for a class-wide project focused on food deserts in the U.S., spanning local to national perspectives. I collaborated closely with the Art Director to develop the visual style guide, distribute responsibilities, and support teams to ensure a cohesive and visually consistent final product. I also helped organize resources and coordinated outreach to professionals for additional subject matter insight. Additionally, I designed the “Origins of Food Deserts” page, which explored the historical and systemic roots of the issue.
Lighting Up The Night
Award Winning Piece
This graphic explores the fascinating world of fireflies, from their glowing abdomens to their unique life cycle. Through engaging visuals, it breaks down their anatomy and explains how they produce light using a chemical reaction called bioluminescence. The design uses vibrant colors and soft, glowing effects to capture the beauty of these nocturnal insects. By blending scientific facts with eye-catching illustrations, this project makes learning about fireflies both fun and educational.
Betta fish
This fun, hands-on activity sheet teaches kids the basics of betta fish care through colorful, illustrated stickers drawn in Procreate. To bring the stickers to life, I experimented with different digital brushes and textures to create an oil pastel-like effect, adding a playful, hand-drawn feel. Each sticker represents an essential part of betta care, from setting up the perfect tank to feeding and maintenance. By placing the stickers in the right spots, kids learn step-by-step how to keep their fish happy and healthy. With a bright, engaging design, this project makes learning about pet care exciting, creative, and easy to understand!

Blendi Box
Collaborator
Blendi Box is a smoothie delivery concept inspired by the convenience of services like HelloFresh and my love for fresh, on-the-go smoothies. As part of a group branding project, I helped develop the concept and created the logo, designing a stylized blender that doubles as a box, with the brand name placed inside to represent both freshness and delivery. I also worked on packaging mockups that use fruit-inspired colors and patterns to reflect the brand’s playful and vibrant tone. As a team, we collaborated in Figma to design a mobile-friendly website that brought the brand to life through intuitive layout, clean navigation, and cohesive visuals.
Doechii’s Alligator Bites Never Heal Reimagined
I chose Doechii because I’ve followed her for a while, and this album marks a defining moment in her career. Her original cover features her seated with an albino alligator, which I reimagined by adding an alligator bite to suggest part of the portrait had been torn away. I used handwritten script for her name and album title to match the promotional aesthetic. The bite motif continued in the poster design, which includes torn paper, song titles, and a contrasting human bite mark. To keep Doechii as the focal point, I enlarged a promotional image and placed other shots from the same editorial on a film reel. An alligator skin overlay and a Florida stamp emphasize her nickname, the "Swamp Princess," and her roots in Florida. My goal was to pay homage to the original while introducing more layered and visually compelling elements.

Royal Ice Cream Summit
Collaborator
For the Royal Ice Cream Summit, I helped create an opening video using Adobe After Effects for an event celebrating the upcoming launch of a new food kitchen in Durham. This was a unique opportunity to work directly with a client, which allowed me to better understand how to take creative direction, manage feedback, and deliver a product aligned with a real-world vision. The summit featured notable guests including Ava DuVernay, Chef José Andrés, and key local collaborators. I assembled the full video sequence, designed visual assets such as the ice cream truck and the Durham skyline, and created a tribute to the historic Royal Ice Cream Sit-In. This 1957 protest challenged segregation at a local ice cream parlor and played an important role in Durham’s civil rights history. The final video introduced the team and key figures behind the project and was designed to work effectively with or without sound.
Self Portrait in Motion
This project explores the connection between identity, music, and digital creation. I aimed to reflect my personal artistic workflow through an animated self-portrait, using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. The animation begins with a scene of me turning on my computer and playing music, setting the tone for the creative process. I recreated the Illustrator interface to blend realism with artistic interpretation. By animating each layer one by one, I visually represented how I construct digital artwork, highlighting the rhythm and intention behind each step. The greatest challenge was finding a way to depict creation without becoming too literal or overly abstract.
