Royal Ice Cream Summit

Collaborator

For the Royal Ice Cream Summit, I helped create an opening video using Adobe After Effects for an event celebrating the upcoming launch of a new food kitchen in Durham. This was a unique opportunity to work directly with a client, which allowed me to better understand how to take creative direction, manage feedback, and deliver a product aligned with a real-world vision. The summit featured notable guests including Ava DuVernay, Chef José Andrés, and key local collaborators. I assembled the full video sequence, designed visual assets such as the ice cream truck and the Durham skyline, and created a tribute to the historic Royal Ice Cream Sit-In. This 1957 protest challenged segregation at a local ice cream parlor and played an important role in Durham’s civil rights history. The final video introduced the team and key figures behind the project and was designed to work effectively with or without sound.
